Biography:

BACKGROUND:

Charlie Griffiths is a Wirral born actress in her late 20’s who trained at LAMDA and has a Distinction Diploma in Performing Arts. She began acting from an early age and with a good singing voice has often been able to combine both singing and acting in her performances.

Charlie Griffiths has received some outstanding reviews from numerous performers papers and critics for the following roles – ‘Nicky Pringle’ in ‘Heart & Soul The Musical‘ (Epstein Theatre), ‘Baroness Hard-up & Fairy Godmother’ in ‘Cinderella‘ (St Helens Theatre Royal), ‘Buddha’ in ‘Creation and all That Jazz‘ at Edinburgh Fringe Festival twice, ‘Kelly’ in critically acclaimed musical ‘Bully!‘ which she also Co-Directed. Down Our Street‘ (Unity Theatre) which she also produced and performed in and ‘Liz’ in Award winning comedy ‘If The Shoe Fits‘ (Floral Pavilion) which has now been rewritten for a feature length film.

Winter 2013 / Spring 2014 – Charlie Griffiths will once again play ‘Chanel’ in ‘The Ciggie Run’ in October and new role ‘Tiger Lily’ in this year’s Christmas Pantomime ‘Peter Pan’ both at St Helens Theatre Royal. She will then tour in ‘Heart & Soul The Musical’ playing ‘Nicky Pringle’ and has landed the role of understudying Crissy Rock in the lead female role of ‘Liz Lovett’ in ‘Escorts The Musical’ at St Helens Theatre Royal and Floral Pavilion for 2014.

Charlie Griffiths has to date had some good TV credits and having played several challenging roles to date on stage and on screen, she hopes to build on these in 2014 and beyond. TV credits to date include – an early role in her career as ‘Molly’ in ‘Children’s Ward‘ (Granada TV), ‘Kate’ in ‘Faith in Chaos‘ (BBC), ‘Jury Member’ in ITV’s ‘Appropriate Adult‘ which starred Emily Watson,

FILM & CORPORATE PROJECTS:

Charlie Griffiths film and corporate projects include ‘Jude’s Neighbour’ in ‘Across the Universe‘ (Universal Pictures) starring Jim Sturgess, ‘Darla’ in ‘Marmalade‘ (Short film) ‘Chas’ in ‘Gladrags‘ (Short), ‘Claire’ in ‘Dreamwalker‘ (Short), ‘Kelly’ in ‘Kelly’s Night‘ which was seen at ‘Cannes Film Festival‘. Corporate work includes ‘Mother to Victim’ in Childline TV campaign ‘It’s Good to Talk‘ alongside Esther Rantzen and also took on the dramatic role of an abused woman for an emotional Domestic Violence TV Campaign for Women’s Aid.

HOBBIES / OTHER INFORMATION: 

Whilst Charlie Griffiths’ main passion is very much for acting, she also sings in her spare time. She has toured up and down the UK and parts of Europe as soloist ‘Charlie G’ with self-penned dance tracks with producer Liam Keegan, tracks which are available on iTunes – ‘Lead me to the Dancefloor’, ‘Summers Calling’ and ‘Beating of my Heart’ (re-release of Madonna Live to Tell). Charlie also used to travel all over the UK gigging the club scene as part of a girl duo and trio and has performed at some of the top venues in the UK and parts of Europe with these groups. Charlie also used to front 6 piece bandBREEZE and gigged at The Cavern on several occasions. Charlie is recently still writing and releasing tracks and performs with her sister in duo ‘Killa Sista’ who performed on the Main Waterfront Stage at Liverpool PRIDE in 2013 and has received rave reviews from Peter Williams (Robbie Williams Dad) and comedian Roy Walker.

Charlie Griffiths is Wirral based but is very happy able to travel UK wide for projects. Away from music, Charlie loves spending time with family and friends, especially her partner and daughter.
